Kathy Pearl

RN, MA, LADC

Kathy started out as an RN and worked primarily in ICU’s. Later she went to Pediatrics and loved it. She began to experience the effects of substance use, it affected all of her life and career. In recovery, her heart began to reach out to others experiencing the dreadful effects of substance use. This urged her to go back to school to learn how to reach others to bridge them to the aid she knew existed. As a counselor, she discovered the population at MN Adult and Teen Challenge, struggling to reclaim identity and purpose. So she tends to work with clients in this journey. She is also a proponent of recovery through connection. She likes to focus on group therapy as a primary approach in recovery related work. She is proud to be part of the team at Teen Challenge. The work and ministry allows her to promote healing through our Lord who is the Healer. Approaches: Motivational interviewing, CBT with mindfulness and client centered. When she completes the journey of obtaining her LPCC, she plans to work primarily with trauma recovery. Interests: Knitting, guitar and oboe, spending time with family and good friends!
