A Comprehensive Chemical Health Assessment is how a substance abuse or chemical dependency problem is assessed. It evaluates the extent of substance use, withdrawal potential and risks, relapse potential, looks at co-occurring concerns, and recovery support.  The assessor then looks at all of the data comprehensively to determine the appropriate level of care needed for treatment.
