Impact: Perspectives from Families, Counties, and Providers examines how gaps in Minnesota’s adolescent residential SUD treatment system affect real people and day-to-day decision-making. Building on a brief overview of survey findings, this session centers the lived experiences of families and youth alongside front-line perspectives from providers and community partners. Panelists will discuss challenges related to access, placement delays, funding constraints, care continuity, and workforce pressures, highlighting how system-level barriers translate into stress, instability, and limited options for those seeking care. This webinar is designed to move beyond data to human impact, setting the stage for solution-focused dialogue in the final session of the series.
Objectives:
- Analyze the human impact of system gaps: Evaluate how current deficiencies in Minnesota’s adolescent SUD treatment system specifically affect the mental health, stability, and day-to-day lives of families and youth.
- Identify frontline operational challenges: Discern the practical barriers faced by providers and counties, including workforce pressures, funding constraints, and the logistical hurdles of continuity of care.
- Connect data to lived experience: Synthesize survey findings with real-world narratives to understand how high-level system barriers (such as placement delays) translate into personal and professional stress.
- Prepare for solution-oriented advocacy: Use the insights gained from family and provider perspectives to inform and participate in future dialogues regarding systemic reform and improved access to care.
