Webinar | Supporting Moms on Their Journey: Parenting While in Treatment & Recovery

September 18, 2025 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

We know that navigating treatment and recovery is a huge step, and for moms who are also working with Child Protective Services (CPS), the journey comes with its own set of unique challenges.

This upcoming webinar is designed to help you better understand these complex situations. We’ll explore how past trauma, especially grief and loss, can significantly impact substance use and how mothers experience the CPS system. Our goal is to highlight proven, trauma-informed strategies that offer truly effective support.

We’ll also look at how re-traumatization can unfortunately occur during CPS involvement and discuss healing-centered approaches that build resilience and promote long-term well-being for both mothers and their children.

Join us to gain insights into:

  • How trauma impacts substance use and mothers within the system, along with best practices for support.
  • Guiding mothers as they transition back into a parental role outside of a structured treatment environment.
  • How CPS handles relapses, and practical strategies for harm reduction.
  • Supporting long-term recovery to help prevent future CPS involvement across generations.
  • The specific effects of grief and loss on substance use and mothers in the system, and optimal support strategies.

We believe that by understanding these crucial considerations, we can work together more effectively to support these families.
