Jesse’s Letter
Dear J,
I know it feels like you’ve hit rock bottom again, and the idea of real change might seem like a distant dream. I’m writing to you from a place of freedom, from a future that once felt impossible, but I promise it’s real.
I remember sitting in a segregation cell high on pills I had manipulated the doctors to prescribe, wondering how I’d ended up in even a smaller box than before. I realized then I was a slave to sin. and the next smaller box, it had to be a coffin. That moment of clarity led me to surrender my life to God, even though I thought He wouldn’t want it, but He did, and He took it. That night I slept peacefully for the first time in years. My depression lifted, my back pain vanished, and I woke up with a hunger to know God who had met me in that brokenness.
