60-Day Extended-Care Drug Treatment Program

Overview:
This sixty-day faith-based residential treatment program is for men and women 18 years and older. It is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services and is designed for individuals who have had previous outpatient and primary care treatment. Residents receive a concentrated drug treatment curriculum to aid in recovery, provided by licensed chemical dependency counselors. The curriculum topics include: chemical dependency, anger management, personal relationships, family dynamics, depression, self-acceptance, relapse prevention, and social skills development. The residents in this drug and alcohol treatment program also receive CD assessments, individualized treatment plans, group therapy and individual counseling from our licensed chemical dependency counselors.
Who qualifies for this program:
This program is for adult male and females age 18 and older whose problems are so serious they can no longer function in social, family, school, and work settings. The majority of people we serve have a chronic history of chemical use, previous treatment services; many have been homeless, unemployed, and have a history of physical, verbal, sexual, emotional and/or spiritual abuse.
Minnesota Teen Challenge Extended Care Program accepts individuals who have been referred by correctional institutions, courts, county social service agencies, insurance agencies, churches and self-referrals.
To qualify for this program, applicants must complete a Rule 25 assessment that determines their need for Extended Care treatment. Other service initiation criteria can be provided upon request. Minnesota Teen Challenge serves individuals located in Hennepin County and surrounding counties.

Minnesota Teen Challenge goal is to help residents establish chemical-free lifestyles in connection with issues they identify as life-controlling and to recognize that these skills and tools are transferable to future problems and challenges they will face.
Our Therapeutic Focus:
- Helping residents develop a spiritual life that provides inner-strength and a foundation for lasting recovery.
- Helping residents identify and replace negative and unhealthy core beliefs using a cognitive behavioral model - a series of teachings we entitle, "Renewing the Mind".
- Motivational interviewing which helps residents strengthen their motivation for change.
- A series of teaching on Life Skill development in areas such as: personal and family relationships,self-acceptance, relapse prevention, social skills development, anger management, recreation, etc.
